9. REFLECTIONS.
In Wales they are not afraid to paint their houses in bright colours. By making use of shadows (see picture nr. 6) and reflections you can get a better composition. The reflection adds an extra dimension to the photograph. Next time more about colour.

This is what I mean by ZenZien, ZenMiru.
An ugly old drinking trough overgrown with moss can be very beautiful. |

7. "Trees nr. 1"
For a photographer the sun always shines.
In this picture the sun is shining too, only filtered by a heavy cloud layer. Very soft light, no shadows. The exact opposite of the situation in the previous picture.
Yet the photographs were taken on the same day.
So the light is always good for taking pictures.
Even at night. (See photograph nr. 2)

5.
First a picture was taken of Mont St. Michel using a tripod.
The sky was boring to the North., then the camera on the tripod was turned towards the west.
And another picture was taken on the same piece of film.
When the sun is low in the sky, its light has to travel a greater distance through the atmosphere.
Wih the result that the white sunlight gives the sky a red colour.

4.
The white light of the sun is being dispersed by the atmosphere.
With the blue wavelength the effect is the strongest, that's why the sky is blue. |

The light of the sun has all colours of the rainbow in it.
The waterdrops break down the sunlight into different colours. |

2.
This picture was taken end of August 1999.
At night too the radiation of the sun can be seen.
Here in the shape of the Northern Lights on Iceland.
This was a time exposure from a tripod.
The small white dots are the stars, and a star is a sun too.

1. "Sun nr. 1"
Without light there is no photography.
The light on our planet comes directly or indirectly from the sun.
This picture (or actually pictures) was taken from a tripod.
With three minute intervals an exposure of the setting sun was made on the same piece of film. |
